A gathering of approximately 500 pastors took place in Santa Barbara, California, hosted by TPUSA Faith. Speakers including Eric Metaxas, Rick Green, and Greg Laurie emphasized a return to gospel-centric preaching and biblical discipleship over political rallies. The event focused on equipping church leaders to engage with culture through the lens of scripture rather than prioritizing nationalism.
Pastor Jimmy Pruitt and Pastor Brian plan a podcast-format sermon to provide a biblical perspective on Israel, moving away from the "whirlpool of doo-doo" found in online debates. They criticize the divisiveness among public figures like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, urging believers to focus on scripture rather than prideful online fights.
Referencing Eric Metaxas’s Letter to the American Church, the hosts discuss the legacy of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the danger of the church remaining silent during political tyranny. They play a prophetic clip of Charlie Kirk expressing a desire for "a thousand Dietrich Bonhoeffers," noting the personal cost of standing against evil. The segment explores the tension between religious neutrality and moral duty.
Eric Metaxas filled a keynote slot at the Nashville conference, providing a finger on the pulse of current events following Charlie Kirk's absence. Matthew West and his daughter led worship sessions, performing anthems such as Unashamed. The atmosphere is described as a blend of grief and electric spiritual energy, incorporating quotes and clips curated by Matt Munt.
