Michael Schroeder was shot in the back while attempting to return to the Mount Carmel main house from a nearby automotive shop known as the Mag Bag. Witnesses claim Schroeder was unarmed and was shot multiple times, including twice in the head after he was already down in a gully. The ATF allegedly prevented the community from recovering his body for burial, leaving it exposed to the elements.
