The 19th annual memorial service marks the 20th year since the 1993 fire at Mount Carmel. Catherine Lessinger, a professor from Loyola University, is introduced to discuss her research into the history of the survivors. She has interviewed several key figures, including Catherine Madison and Sheila Martin, and is preparing a book for publication.

00:00 Glad to see everybody here this year. This is the 19th annual memorial, it's the 20th one since the fire. I had one during the month of June in 1993 while I was at Jennifer's. It's hard when you think back, it's hard to sum up all that happened During the 51-day siege in 1993, we're here today to basically remember and pay our respects to those who died. And to bring out some things that we've learned since then as far as what took place so we ask that you bear with us

She interviewed Catherine Madison before she passed, helped write a book for Bonnie Holliman before she passed away and wrote a book for Sheila. And as you'll see over here there is supposed to be coming out in August but she has not come yet
