Friday Wrap Up #7 - podcast with Jonnie Jensen cover

About this episode

Jonnie Jensen announced the Launchpad Summit and the September debut of the Hero Academy to provide fathers with a structured path toward fitness, finance, and family growth. Broadcasting during a Southeast England heatwave, Jensen detailed how the upcoming September 19 event will feature experts like Dan Flanagan from Dad La Soul to combat the isolation many men face. The session highlights the transition from mundane living to an ambitious lifestyle through consistent accountability and community engagement.

New UK quarantine mandates for travelers returning from France forced the immediate cancellation of Jensen’s family holiday, highlighting the ongoing volatility of international travel. Nicola Cairncross joined the project to offer property investment expertise, while the Frolo app was recommended for single parents seeking positive social connections. Physical recovery remains a priority through the Daily Sweat Challenge and osteopathy sessions to address referred shoulder pain. Jensen also detailed a shift from high-stress share trading toward property development, citing the need for expert-led financial strategies. The NATO principle—Not Attached to Outcome—was introduced via Beiju Solanki as a vital mindset for maintaining consistent running habits without the pressure of personal records.

Recent excursions to Joss Bay and local static caravan parks offered a look at British summer life during the pandemic. Jensen recounted the irony of a three-hour motorway delay mitigated only by the comfort of a new car. The episode captures the search for social unicorns—friends with children of similar ages—over a bring-a-dish dinner or a Brighton block party.

Hero Academy, Personal Development for Dads

The Hero Academy is scheduled to launch in September, offering coaching and accountability for fathers in areas of fitness, finance, focus, family, and fun. The program aims to transition participants from a mundane lifestyle into a more ambitious way of living. Jensen emphasizes the importance of consistent posting and attention to drive growth.

hero academy· fitness· finance· personal development· accountability

01:38 Last Friday and I was at the beach all weekend as well so it's flipping amazing. If you've not joined me before, obviously the people that have you know me exactly friends on my personal Facebook hello! You definitely know who i am but to everybody else if you've not met me before My name is Jonnie Jensen. I'm the host founder of Team Superdad where dads come to create their best lives ever we equip people in fitness finance focus family and fun And launching in September is the Hero Academy, which is like packed full of coaches and accountability and just some kick-ass activities to rip you out of your humdrum life into something better bigger brighter bolder. That's what it's all about! Keeping up with these Friday wrap ups has been a challenge but what I do know is the more I post the more I get

02:33 The more interest, the more everything grows. Where attention goes energy flows. It's got to be true don't mess with the universe it will have a habit of proving you right either way whether you think it works or doesn't work it will prove you right So what else has been happening? Here's the rundown, right. We're gonna run it down Had the kids last week that was just amazing so hot the beach was fabulous trying to outrun The crowds and avoid corona is obviously Whatever your feelings are on it It's definitely better to be safe and sensible you know rather than go and hang out where there's thousands of people we know I don't know

CHAPTER 03 / 15 Discussion

Joss Bay, Kayaking and Avoiding Crowds

A recent trip to Joss Bay, a popular surfing beach in Southeast England, was diverted to a quieter part of the coast to avoid large crowds during the coronavirus pandemic. After purchasing a kayak, the group spent the day at sea with friends. The outing focused on maintaining safety and sensible social distancing while enjoying the summer weather.

joss bay· surfing· kayaking· social distancing· coronavirus

03:21 That's just sensible, right? If there is a war over there don't go in that direction. You can tell that by refugees and stuff they don't want to head towards the war they wanna get away from the war so why should we be any different? I went to the beach and there was literally... In Joss Bay it's like a surfer beach in England, South East England you might think there are not many big waves but The Jonnie Jensen Show, Jonnie Jensen Show,

03:59 So we did not go there, no. We just headed down the coast and had an amazing day with Olivia friends of ours and her boy Jude Just epic to hang out with the Jonnie J's The kayak as have thousands of other British people gone out and bought a kayak so...we're bumbling around in the sea just making the most of it Then the kids got back to their mothers And then I spent a weekend on a caravan park You might have seen the live from the Caravan Park It's been a while, I did have caravan park adventures as a kid in France. And fond memories, I mean fond memories. Bizarrely, bizarrely I do remember one night trying to open the door of the toilet in this caravan thing and i couldn't get it open and I just wet myself in the corridor of the caravan It's okay though I was about nine years old so let's say not too extreme of a confession there

CHAPTER 04 / 15 Discussion

Traffic Delays, Motorway Closure and New Car

A 60-minute return journey from the beach turned into a three-hour ordeal due to a motorway closure. Despite the significant delay, the experience was mitigated by the comfort of a new vehicle. The drive followed a weekend spent with children before they returned to their mother's care.

motorway· traffic jam· driving· commute· car

04:59 The Jonnie Jensen Show, Jonnie Jensen Show, If you're listening to the podcast, then you just have to imagine my baldy head looking browner than normal. And that's what we're looking like right now. Long drive... Oh my gosh! The drive back from the beach with the kids though their motorway was closed and a 60 minute journey took three hours that was horrific but it's much easier in my nice new car so that's not the end of world

CHAPTER 05 / 15 Discussion

Loneliness, Social Connections and the "Bring-a-Dish" Antidote

Modern first-world loneliness is identified as a significant societal scourge, with the proposed cure being active social engagement. The difficulty of reaching out to others who are busy within their own family units is acknowledged. Strategies for overcoming isolation include hosting barbecues and "bring-a-dish" dinner parties to foster community connections.

loneliness· social life· dinner parties· mental health· community

05:41 And then I guess there's kind of like a social life as well. We were out with Olivia and Jude, and then the weekend I spent the weekend with Kelly, really lovely lady Nancy is her daughter one of Rosie's best mates so just nice to be making social connections there and having some good times Social life you know it's loneliness throughout the scourge of modern first world loneliness, scourge of society It's the problem is almost as easy as the cure. Sitting indoors doing nothing not speaking to anyone you're going to end up lonely getting out inviting people over finding new things that do is the antidote it's like, it's not really that complicated but we feel confronted in if you're really confronted by am I gonna call them are they gonna say yes isn't this sound weird and it is a bit tricky because

06:37 The number of times you call someone and say, oh hi what are you doing? Oh Hi! Want to come out. Or Hi do you... And they kind of say no but because they're busy or they got there in a family unit still and people are busy right people don't think of new people or even just people that is busy and I think if anyone there at home on their own just as much as we're at home on our own so yeah like i said the answer to loneliness is to get off your ass and do something about it And we talked a whole bunch about that. Barbecues, hangouts... Dinner... you know they call it like diner dinner dinner? It's like a dinner, modern day dinner parties but what are they called? Like bring-a-dish! There you go bring a dish. Bring a dish doesn't sound as fun at the dinner party does it okay right so dinner parties much more fun. Dinner and a party even better even better So there's plenty of that happening Team Superdad

CHAPTER 06 / 15 Discussion

Static Caravan, Southeast England Park Observations

A weekend stay at a static caravan park in Southeast England provided a cross-section of British society. The experience triggered childhood memories of caravan holidays in France. The accommodations featured full amenities including lounges, kitchens, and multiple bedrooms, situated near a local beach.

07:35 Oh, actually before I come on to that the caravan park it was good. You know like a real mix of British society there uh the family in the caravan behind they're like static caravans so they're big you know like a lounge and two bedrooms bathroom toilet kitchen everything and then so the family behind us proper white as it goes you know southeast Englanders and they didn't but there's a beautiful beach The Jonnie Jensen Show, Jonnie Jensen Show,

The organization is known for its "Block Party" events in Brighton. A breakout session featuring the Dad La Soul crew is being planned for the upcoming Launchpad Summit.

10:22 Dad Lasalle do these online play dates, absolutely brilliant. You know you can imagine during lockdown they were awesome and essential and they did some awesome parties as well Dan Flanagan and his whole crew they... sorry to miss their absent names Mark I know there's Mark a couple of marks but the other one that one of my best parties went to was The Block Party in Brighton actually brilliant So if you're around the Brighton area, look out for the Dad Lassole events and Dad Lassole parties. But yeah they're going to do a breakout session on the Launchpad Summit. Andrew Priestley is gonna speak I'm talking...I can't mention them the two guys from the business and finance section because i'm just working that through with them but Dean Coulson The Lean Warrior Absolute Black Belt Ninja! He's he's gonna be doing something on mindset and fitness

CHAPTER 09 / 15 Discussion

Nicola Cairncross, Female Perspectives in Team Superdad

Nicola Cairncross, an expert in property investment and digital marketing, is highlighted as a key speaker for the Team Superdad project. Cairncross is described as an inspirational figure who transitioned from being a single parent to a successful multi-industry entrepreneur.

nicola cairncross· property investment· digital marketing· relationships· single parents

11:16 Who else? Oh, Nicola Cairncross. Good to have a woman involved in not just the token women I want women to be around the Team Sleepy Dad project. You know we don't know that's why i'm going to tell you but it's... It's..I don't want to do this stuff is not about polarized thing it's not about excluding women if anything you know it's about creating really strong relationships with women in our lives particularly our relationships and if you're not in a relationship to actually get out there and find a new one too The Jonnie Jensen Show, Jonnie Jensen Show,

12:00 Single parent and then she's learnt, she has learned so much. She is like a machine. She does trading and investing. She is property investor. She has got digital marketing businesses an stuff. So she is inspiration basically and great to have her involved So yeah, and loads more being lined up. There's gonna be eight speakers across the six hours plus, like I said with the Dadless Soul break in the middle so it's going to awesome really really cool if you go to teamsuperdad.com forward slash launchpad Obviously launch pad as it sounds. CHAPTER 10 / 15 Discussion

Osteopathy, Physical Recovery and Daily Sweat Challenge

Recovery from a recent injury involved seeing an osteopath to address referred pain in the shoulder originating from the back and legs. The importance of trusting one's body and seeking expert help is emphasized. Progress is tracked through the "Daily Sweat Challenge" in the Team Superdad group, promoting transparency in the fitness journey.

osteopathy· injury recovery· fitness· daily sweat challenge· physical therapy

13:02 You need to keep notes. I do have a running order but there was something that came up and i was going to talk about it so let's do with social life, it's gone! But anyway fitness back on the fitness trail You might have seen the live in the week but it's hard when you injure yourself, you know to just first of all get back fit. Sorry...to get back to health I've been seeing the osteopath and for the first couple times he was really working on his shoulders because that is where the pain was and i go back and say look i don't think its the shoulder, i know my body Go back and watch the livestream about knowing your body and trusting your body But it wasn't, it was more through the back and leg. So I spent the whole session literally stretching out the back working through some stuff on my leg and you know hallelujah now the shoulder's not hurting! And I should know my body I'm 14 bloody 6 but having it worked through

13:59 And feeling my back not all pulled tight for the first time in weeks has been absolutely brilliant. Getting out running though was not quite so easy and like I shared before, it's always really easy for me to share what i'm working out. In the Team Superdad group there is the daily sweat challenge you can see each day when i'm working out and also see when there are gaps right? I want that to be real, I want it to be genuine. You need to realise that's I'm not your guru in the words of Tony Robbins. I am not your guru! I'm on this journey with you. The coaches and the experts we bring into Team Superdad are there because i'm not that person right? And realistically um... In some areas I'm just a couple steps ahead of you. In other areas maybe a couple steps behind you but thats what team super dad is all about

CHAPTER 11 / 15 Discussion

Property Development, Share Trading and Financial Stress

A year and a half spent in share trading provided significant learning but was ultimately discontinued due to high stress and lack of profitability. There is a renewed interest in pursuing property development and investment. The goal is to find experts who can assist in reaching new levels of financial success.

property development· share trading· investment· financial goals· stress management

14:49 Coming together and making stuff happen, having a laugh doing it. Finding experts who can help us break through into new levels of success in particular areas I'm so keen to get into some level of property development investment. I did the share trading for about a year and a half And I learned so much but ultimately I stopped doing it because it was too stressful when I wasn't making any money But I dare say with the right I'm

CHAPTER 12 / 15 Discussion

NATO Principle, Running and Detachment from Outcomes

The "NATO" principle—Not Attached to Outcome—is introduced as a mindset for physical activities and social life. Taught by Beiju Solanki in a mastermind group, the concept encourages performing tasks like running for the sake of the action rather than focusing on beating personal records. This approach is intended to reduce pressure and ensure consistency in habits.

beiju solanki· nato· running· mindset· goal setting

15:52 It's hard, it's hot. I haven't done it for three or four weeks and you know what the biggest kicker is? I'm thinking...I want to be as fast as I was two weeks ago and that's just not going to happen let alone how blooming hot it was but letting go of that there's a principle that I've been taught recently in one of The Masterminds by Beiju Solanki and it's called NATO no not attached outcome NATO really take on board not attached to outcome And it means that you're going to do something without a concern of what's gonna happen at the end of it. I'm gonna go running because I'm gonna go running, I'm not gonna go running because I want to beat my personal best.

16:36 I'm into the race, like all those things might be happening but iIm going to go running because I said I'm going to go running. And when you operate like that you can have your fastest day ever You could even have a slow day but at least you went out and did the run and made it happen. The same with social life and dating no breakthroughs yet in that area But social life comes first really to be quite frank getting out there Olivia's having a barbecue on Thursday which now that France has been goonered We'll be there for that and just having some fun actually calling people and saying hi, can we come out? What are you up to?

CHAPTER 13 / 15 Discussion

Frolo App, Single Parent Networking and Social "Unicorns"

The Frolo app is recommended as a growing platform for single parents in the UK to find sound social connections. Finding "social unicorns"—friends with children of similar ages—is described as the ultimate goal for parents. While some single-parent communities are criticized for negativity, specific chats within Frolo are noted for having positive, like-minded people.

frolo app· single parents· networking· parenting· community

17:14 The thing I want to find most, I've got to be honest. The thing i want to find most is sound people like people that get on with like Hammond and Lucy who've got kids the same age as Jago and Rose because Jago and Rosie play absolutely amazing with Polly and Archie and like I said Hammond and Lucy are just great people to hang out with so when you can find that it's like that is...that's the flipping unicorn! You know? That's the promised land Good mates with kids the same age as yours. Epic! So if that's you, right? 46, old raver house music, sporty like to tit about

18:01 Then yeah, you can be mates with us. Jago and Rose 10...10 and 8 soon to be 11 and 9 come on get involved! The Frolo app is just growing and growing in the UK so it's mainly for single parents but normally I'm trying keep out of those single parent worlds because they're just so toxic and negative but there are lots of different chats inside a Frolo and some pretty sound people getting together Reach out. Last summer we had the Team Superdad picnic, which was pretty cool I was dabbling with the idea of having one at the first weekend in September but if it's locked down...I don't think that's going to happen And on a subject where I don't think that is going to happen France Our trip to France this week got absolutely goonered by the new quarantine rules coming back from France

CHAPTER 14 / 15 Discussion

France Quarantine, Travel Restrictions and Holiday Cancellations

New quarantine rules for travelers returning from France have forced the cancellation of a planned family holiday. The restrictions prevent a reunion with cousins, nieces, and nephews, causing significant disappointment. The situation reflects the ongoing impact of coronavirus regulations on international travel and domestic leisure plans.

france· quarantine· travel restrictions· coronavirus· holiday

18:52 Sad to say, absolutely devastating. My kids are gutted because they're not going to see their cousins I'm gutted because i'm not gonna see my nieces and nephews and then we're all gutted cause we're not gonna see auntie Andrea and uncle Jim And you know it was our holiday right so that was an important part of it but I'm so bored of this corona stuff, can we please have the cure? Can we get rid of it and go raving?

19:33 The Jonnie Jensen Show, The Jonnie Jensen Show, Jonnie Jensen Show, Good on you if you've got one of those places. I don't begrudge that for a second, there'll be people out there that will pay it right now and what the hell? That's the world we live in and i think that's fine! It is up to us all to go out and find our own fun. And that is what we will do so next week is going to be the week commencing 17th August 2020

CHAPTER 15 / 15 Discussion
