Don Lemon and the Cities Church Protest in Minneapolis
The discussion turns to a recent incident where protesters interrupted a worship service at Cities Church in Minneapolis. Former CNN host Don Lemon was present, filming the disruption which targeted the church because of a member's alleged affiliation with ICE. The hosts criticize the disruption as a political operation that terrorized families during worship.
In a follow-up clip, Don Lemon attributes the backlash against him to "white supremacy" and "entitlement" within religious groups. He compares the church disruption to the tactics of the civil rights movement, claiming there are no constitutional restrictions on the timing of protests. The hosts dispute his interpretation of the First Amendment and his role as a neutral journalist.
The hosts advise Christians to avoid engaging with the controversy online to prevent feeding social media algorithms. They frame the incident as a setup for the 2026 midterm elections, intended to label believers as "Christian nationalists." Instead of anger, they suggest adding Don Lemon to a prayer list, following the biblical mandate to love one's enemies.
