About this episode

Louise Miller opens the Make It Happen Club to provide solo business owners a sanctuary for clarity and motivation. The Unfrazzle podcast challenges the prevailing hustle culture by advocating for a sustainable approach to productivity. This shift helps entrepreneurs execute large-scale visions while avoiding the mental fatigue associated with constant professional striving.

A recent team planning facilitation in London introduced the Postponing Goodness strategy to prioritize current successes over future obligations. This framework addresses the common entrepreneurial struggle of feeling perpetually behind despite significant professional achievements. By resisting the urge to rush between tasks, business owners can better appreciate existing client relationships and creative offers. Miller suggests that over-scheduling often masks a frazzled nervous system that requires intentional regulation and deep belly breaths to restore focus.

Listeners are invited to identify one specific change to better enjoy their current professional life. Louise Miller encourages sharing the episode on Spotify and iTunes to help more people bring their business ideas to fruition. The session concludes with a reminder that intentional reflection is the primary tool for breaking the cycle of overstretching.

CHAPTER 02 / 4 Discussion

London Planning Session and Postponing Goodness Strategy

A recent team planning facilitation in London resulted in a strategy that prioritized "postponing goodness" to ensure the team could enjoy their current successes. This approach contrasts with the common cycle of rushing between tasks and experiencing mental fatigue. Many entrepreneurs struggle with the feeling of being behind despite their professional achievements.

01:30 A little while ago I hopped on a train to London to facilitate a planning day for client and her fabulous team. And together we came up with an exciting, achievable plan for the year and I really loved what my client said afterwards She said We planned so much goodness and we postponed some goodness So we actually get to enjoy the goodness of the goodness! Or are you doing what I used to do and rushing from one thing to the next, until your head starts spinning? You forget to breathe. You're fretting about the next thing on your list and the thing you might have forgotten to do... ...and the thing you really should have done by now! And you can't think straight. And you're out of milk. What on earth are you going to have for dinner?! So please don't feel bad if that sounds familiar it's a really easy pattern to fall into particularly when you're smart and savvy and on a mission

CHAPTER 03 / 4 Discussion

Nervous System Regulation and Intentional Business Reflection

Over-scheduling and relentless striving often prevent business owners from appreciating their current client relationships and creative offers. Taking time for deep belly breaths can calm a frazzled nervous system and break the cycle of overstretching. Business owners are invited to identify one specific change to better enjoy the life they are building.

02:22 Because, you know no matter where we're at in our business journey most of us want to be further along than we are. And whilst that ambition is really fabulous because the world needs you to be out there doing your brilliant thing sometimes it gets tangled up in relentless pushing and striving making it really hard to switch off So you might be thinking well how can I switch off when there's so much more I need to do? And I get it. And my suggestion is that you take a time out, at the very least just taking a few deep belly breaths to calm your frazzled nervous system because overdoing it, over scheduling, over planning overstretching yourself all of those things get in the way of you enjoying the goodness of the goodness that is your business and your life

03:09 You know, the goodness of the offer you're creating. The goodness of the clients you're supporting. The goodness of the relationships your building Imagine if you could fully lean into the goodness of those things rather than blasting through them in a frenzy Wouldn't that feel better? So my invitation for you today is just to reflect on where you might be pushing so hard that you're not enjoying the business and the life that you're creating for yourself. See if you can think about one thing you might change, so that you are better able to enjoy the goodness of the goodness As always I hope that helps and i look forward to seeing you again soon
