The Gonzales Association of Patriots provided emergency shelter and resources to 112 people during the February 2021 Texas freeze. Operating out of a hotel in Gonzales, Texas, the nonprofit exhausted its donations to prevent deaths from exposure when local electricity and water services failed. Mayor Connie Kacir is commended for personally funding food for the displaced residents despite facing media criticism.
