Super Dad Wrap Up #6 - podcast with Jonnie Jensen cover

About this episode

Jonnie Jensen transitioned the Team Super Dad digital infrastructure to StreamYard following technical failures on Restream during the 28 Day Habit Challenge. The migration aims to stabilize the 'Make One Break One' initiative, a July program targeting behavioral shifts in meditation, fitness, and addiction recovery for fathers across the UK. Jensen emphasizes that the platform shift is essential for maintaining the integrity of the community's Zoom and WhatsApp support networks as lockdown restrictions begin to ease.

Technical management remains a central theme as Jensen advocates for outsourcing WordPress development to specialists in India to reclaim personal productivity. The F5 Mastermind is currently integrating biomarker testing to track testosterone and energy levels, mirroring diagnostic methods from Biggest Loser USA. Meanwhile, the UK 11 Plus exam cycle has sparked a debate on linguistic framing, with Jensen pushing for the term 'co-parent' over 'single parent' to foster more empowering family dynamics. Physical setbacks also surfaced as a shoulder injury sustained during the 25 Day Press Up Challenge forced a reliance on osteopathic intervention after ibuprofen failed to restore mobility.

Jonnie Jensen describes his post-injury movement as resembling the droid C-3PO while navigating the complexities of the 25-day fitness goal. Between discussions on Savelio family kayaks and the search for platonic female friendships on dating apps, the session captures the raw reality of balancing digital marketing with the unpredictable nature of modern fatherhood.

CHAPTER 01 / 10 Discussion

Jonnie Jensen Migrates Team Super Dad to StreamYard

Jonnie Jensen introduces the Friday Catch-Up, announcing a platform migration from Restream to StreamYard for the Team Super Dad community. The move follows technical issues and stream interruptions during the previous week's habit challenge. Jensen invites viewers from Facebook, YouTube, and Periscope to interact via comments as he begins the weekly check-in from the UK.

CHAPTER 02 / 10 Discussion

Team Super Dad Community and UK Lockdown Changes

The Team Super Dad community focuses on equipping fathers to improve their lives and family relationships regardless of their relationship status. As the United Kingdom enters a new stage of lockdown with increased freedoms, Jensen describes the challenges of balancing professional work with the unpredictable nature of home life and children.

team super dad· lockdown· united kingdom· parenting· family life

02:35 Looking great, obviously. So Team Super Dad is my community and system to equip dads to have their best life ever, to be the dad's their family needs them to be whether you are in a relationship or single... Oh what was that? That was a big bang downstairs! Whether you're in a relationship or single, your kids need you and you need to have a great time as well. It's all about having our best life ever and this week we've done loads of stuff with Team Super Dad and I've also done loads of stuff with my kids We are entering a new stage of lockdown here in the UK And it is just...it's ever changing isn't it? It's ever-ever changing! As we find ourselves with increased freedoms again

03:21 Different attitudes. I think they're telling me the front door, someone oh it's on the front door and that's the live nature of being at home with your kids as well there's always stuff going on i've guarantee in about 30 seconds they'll be fighting absolutely so Rosie doing her dance lesson and Jago was playing football so they're now indoors So Team Super Dad, what's been happening? First of all team super dad I launched the 28 day challenge which is a habit challenge. The you know habits is a to some people habits obviously good you know fitness juicing going to bed at the right time date nights with your wife working out having a sensible bedtime making time for your kids

CHAPTER 03 / 10 Discussion

Launch of the 28 Day Habit Challenge

The 28 Day Habit Challenge, titled "Make One Break One," launched in July to help fathers adopt positive behaviors like meditation and fitness while breaking negative ones such as smoking or gambling. Participants are encouraged to join the Team Super Dad community via a dedicated URL to access Zoom calls and WhatsApp support groups. The program emphasizes motivation and "anchors" rather than judgment to drive lifestyle changes.

habit challenge· fitness· meditation· personal development· team super dad

04:11 Cooking, like there's so many good habits. As I've said about this challenge, I had to make a list of all the good habits. Acts of kindness, breathing... Like there are so many things! Not just breathing like walking along and breathing but you know there is breathing exercises that can be done which on a day-to-day basis. Meditating, yeah that's a habit these are all positive habits an equally negative habits There are thousands. I was on a website as i was prepping for this and he had 283 bad habits, I'm not sure all of them were bad habits and I'm not sure they were all unique but nonetheless you know in any walk of life we can find good and bad habits biting our fingernails smoking picking our nose going to bed at the wrong time porn gambling

05:01 Super Dad, Team Super Dad, Team Super Dad Community. There's plenty of fitness challenges around and inside of Team Super Dad there is a, you know just an ongoing get sweaty challenge. You know my challenge is on a day-to-day basis every day get sweaty and I had fitness has always been a challenge and always been a goal around Team Super Dad and it's something that I do in my life as much as possible. I can't say I get it done every day

05:54 It's much easier and there are times when it is much harder. And it's about tuning in to what the value of that habit, and actually being able to win the days you don't want to do it... That's your access to getting it done! That's your access to stopping smoking if its for kids or if it's about being able to grow old and have fun with your kids still then that can be motivation for giving up smoking maybe money and buying a car but you've got to have an anchor to drive you towards either giving up a bad habit or adopting a good habit. So that's why we focused on habits for this 28 day challenge in July

06:33 The good thing about it being a habit challenge is you can drop in at any time. And that doesn't mean you can drop out anytime! I want you in and we'll do this all together so go on over to teamsuperdad.com forward slash habit challenge, that's teamsuperdad.com forward slash habit challenge and you can register inside of there and then make sure that your part the invites and zoom calls and whatsapp group and all things are going on around that Get involved. I posted today in the group and on my personal page, what are your good and bad habits? I'd love to know what you think a good and bad habit is. I've no doubt that there will be some people out there who smoke and think that's a good habit Why because they simply love it And that's okay You know this is not a judgy thing certainly we're here to inspire and support and educate but

CHAPTER 04 / 10 Discussion

WordPress Management and the Value of Outsourcing

Technical difficulties with WordPress themes and slow customer support highlight the importance of outsourcing tasks to maximize personal productivity. Despite 20 years of experience in digital marketing, Jensen argues that spending money on specialists—such as a developer in India—is more efficient than struggling with web editing. This philosophy extends to home life, where hiring cleaners or ironing services can free up time for higher-value activities or family.

wordpress· digital marketing· outsourcing· productivity· time management

07:22 We're not here to preach, we're not here to tell you that your bad or wrong so get on board. Other things that have been going on... oh my gosh website challenges, printer challenges You know, if anyone is used to working in WordPress just the themes they should be easy right? They should be easy to manage especially when you've paid extra money for support and they email back after three days and say oh you need to update the theme. And I'm like that's where this started with me updating the theme it is up-to-date yeah just blah blah blah so um...I am pretty tech I'm technically capable, tech minded. You know, I've worked in digital marketing for 20 years and should be able to do basic things on a WordPress site. Should be able to make graphics and use Audacity and Adobe Premiere like there's a lot of things I can do but there is a limit as well. And also about time you know what is your time worth? How much time if two hours what can you do with 2 hours? What could you do with 3 hours

08:18 And how much could you charge? How much could you earn during that same time. So this is where it comes down to outsourcing things out, even at home having a cleaner ironing these are all things that when you measure up how much time they take obviously need the cash flow to be able to actually pay for them but when you look at the time it takes and you look at what else you can do with that time this can be a way to actually make time in your lives And if it comes back to money as, as it does for all of us then like don't let that be a burden. Like we're talking about habits before let that be something that drives you forward with. We've all got to find new ways to increase our income especially in the world today is it a second income? Is it improving your work and career? Is it improving your business?

09:09 Conscious about the money that we need to actually create a lifestyle that we want and being able to outsource some of those things, be able to pay for support means that we can not only get that help but we can also do work that we love. I do not like editing and fixing WordPress sites. I'm not that good at it And thats because i don't spend much time doing so why should I struggle away with it? The £30 I spent with the lady in India was very good money spent and we built up an instant rapport there. The $58 I spent with the theme creator, less happy about but that's another story.

CHAPTER 05 / 10 Discussion

Evolution of The F5 Mastermind and Biomarker Testing

The F5 program is evolving from a standard video course into a full mastermind group providing lifestyle support and coaching for fathers. A new fitness element involves biomarker testing to monitor health metrics like testosterone and energy levels, inspired by the diagnostic approach seen on the television show Biggest Loser USA. Jensen is currently performing due diligence to bring the right medical and coaching partners on board.

the f5· mastermind· biomarker test· testosterone· biggest loser usa

09:52 And so yeah, we're up to stuff. The F5 and that program just evolving it still bringing on board the coaches that I want and really being bold about that really being bold about what i want it to be and the level to which is providing support for dads to create that life they want to create their personal power to achieve ambitions and fulfill their potential You know, it would be very easy to have it be just another video course and some information that you may or may not read. But what if it was like a full mastermind group of dads who are up to stuff? Lifestyle support from amazing people I'm just in the process of discussing a biomarker test so really at the start... If you've ever watched... Come on!

10:51 Fattest person in America. Biggest loser USA! We love that program, we used to watch it all the time but you know one of the things they do right up front in that show is take a health test I've recently been looking at my testosterone levels and my energy levels and so that biomarker test is a real important part of the fitness element of The F5 So these kind of things were baking in and I'm having to do by due diligence and get the right people on board I think that's about it on Team Super Dad. The podcast is going well, a new episode coming out tomorrow assuming i can finish editing it and what I've got to do there is get better at lining up the guests get better at...I've done the research I've got so many different people I want to have on researching through Amazon researching through you know existing podcasts and getting those people lined up so if you've heard

CHAPTER 07 / 10 Discussion

UK Grammar School Exams and Co-Parenting Terminology

The 11 Plus exam process in the UK presents a significant milestone for families, as children seek access to grammar schools. This transition prompts a discussion on the nuances of parenting terminology, specifically the distinction between being a "single parent," a "co-parent," and a "solo parent." Jensen advocates for using more empowering language to describe separated parenting relationships.

11 plus exam· grammar school· co-parenting· solo parent· united kingdom

12:39 Which is good, he's so excited to be back at school. Rosie she's slightly disappointed not to back in school they've got about four weeks left Jago is 11 plus if you've been listening to other updates you'll know that it has been going on for the last like an exam for eleven year olds in the UK to see if they can access grammar schools this only happens in certain parts of country I went to a grammar school as kid and definitely think it was worth it And um...and I'd love him to have that choice really I'm not gonna choose what school he goes too I will suggest which ones I like But I don't think any parent will get so happy, gets thanked by their kids for forcing them to go to a school they didn't want to go too. So especially in a co-parenting situation and curiously...I'm not going to go into it too much detail but if you've not seen the update around single parents, coparents, solo parents,

13:31 The terminology or the phraseology, solo parent and co-parent. Now I was looking for an answer to that as someone pointed out to me so against the expression single parent. So they're just two separate subjects. I am single. I have been for five bloody years! And perfect timing one of my fabulous former partners Emma Notchess messaged me on Facebook. If I've completely lost track. Five years relationships, oh yeah so um yeah if you're single you're single and if your parent you're a parent then they don't exist together but in your parenting relationship you either co-parenting which could be in a relationship together or you could just talk about yourself as parents in a solid relationship but if you are separated then you're co-parenting or solo parenting. It's semantic slightly but it is just a much more powerful way of describing these

CHAPTER 08 / 10 Discussion

Shoulder Injury During the 25 Day Press Up Challenge

A physical setback occurred during the 25 Day Press Up Challenge when Jensen suffered a shoulder injury while attempting to reach a goal of 50 repetitions. Due to lockdown restrictions closing most osteopath clinics, he initially relied on ibuprofen and hot baths before seeking help from a professional contact. The injury resulted in significantly restricted mobility, which he compared to the stiff movements of the droid C-3PO.

14:33 The Jonnie Jensen Show, Jonnie Jensen, Team Super Dad, Super Dad, Team Super Dad, Team The 25 day press up challenge is, has been going back around during lockdown. 25 is no problem for me I've been doing that for a long time but overall have never got up to doing 50 in one go so that's been my goal and I got up to 40 and then last Thursday I think it was? I was doing the up to about 40, doing the last 10 on my knees and my left shoulder just kind of made this clicking noise

15:19 Within two hours I was completely locked up like C-3PO and tried for about a week because all the osteopaths are closed. Everyone's on lockdown right so i can't fix it! I'm necking ibuprofen, hot baths walking around like c-3po and then I ended up calling their osteopath clinic and they said they're not open till the 13th. So then I called a mate of mine who actually teaches there And he doesn't, he doesn't practice frontier and I was hoping he was going to say could help me. He did yes it did so thank you Chris for respect and I can move my shoulder now I can't haven't got much movement to the left but we're doing okay to the right side. So that's the kids. That's my back neck. That is what else?

CHAPTER 09 / 10 Discussion

Dating Apps and Seeking Female Friendships

Reflections on five years of being single lead to a discussion about the current state of dating apps and the desire for platonic female friendships. Jensen expresses a goal of connecting with "quality women" for social interaction and fun as lockdown measures continue to ease in the UK.

dating apps· friendship· social life· lockdown· relationships

16:07 Oh the single co-parent thing yeah. Still yet to, I've been on...I haven't deleted the dating apps. Perhaps just still playing with that whole strategy getting any matches would be good. Getting ones that i was attracted to might be even better I think more than anything, I would just like to have some female friends. That's the target is to have some fun with some awesome women and I don't mean like naked fun although that is always desirable but what I mean it's just mates, just some female mates getting back to having some fun with some quality women and I think that's what we should all be up to you know? It's...I can honestly say

16:55 Some of the best friends I've had in this world have been women and i would like that to be the same right now basically. We're all busy but yeah so quality women get in touch, and oh and then finally just round to summer holidays you know it's looking in the UK they're doing lockdown is easing they're removing some And that's where we're at basically. We are fully, fully on the update

CHAPTER 10 / 10 Discussion

Family Kayaking and Team Super Dad Outro

The session concludes with the purchase of a Savelio family kayak to create summer memories with the children. Jensen demonstrates the new StreamYard branding tools before directing listeners to the Team Super Dad Facebook group and website. A final reminder is given for the Day 3 update of the 28 Day Habit Challenge.
