About this episode

Jonnie Jensen returns to the podcast after a six-week hiatus to detail a transformative family relocation to Annecy, France. This move serves as a case study in calculated risk-taking and vision-alignment between partners, contrasting intentional life design with the reckless decisions often made to salvage failing relationships. The transition coincides with a major technical shift from StreamYard to Riverside, where a Google Chrome configuration error nearly derailed the production schedule before being resolved through rigorous support consultation.

The High Value Man Project expands its 2025 roadmap with the Lodge Weekender in the Scottish Highlands, featuring a signature fire walk designed for group bonding. Jensen outlines the 3XC Accelerator launching in September and the Basecamp entry level, which provides men with digital assets to combat burnout. Key insights from the recent holiday emphasize the restorative power of eight to ten hours of sleep and the strategic benefits of bringing friends on group trips to mitigate the bickering of teenage children. Further analysis of relationship dynamics suggests that men often repeat toxic cycles because they fail to address internal projections, a pattern frequently identified in the High Value Man inner circle and Andy’s Man Club.

Jonnie Jensen reflects on the profound emotional weight of airport reunions, noting that being met at the gate is one of the few remaining acts of unpaid love in a transactional world. He shares a humorous look at the transition from the wild parties of Ibiza to the wholesome clarity of cycling through the French Alps. The episode concludes with a call for fathers to claim their High Value Man blueprint via Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

Other opportunities mentioned include the 3XC Accelerator starting in September and one-on-one elite client coaching.

02:35 The The Life That You Deserve and Desire Towards You. And that's what this is all about, we are the High Value Man Project empowering men around the world to be the man and dad they want to be both at home as well as work creating a life they deserve fundamentally putting themselves first not in a selfish way but in a self leadership way being I think it's a bit cliche to say be the best version of yourself but be the man you wanna be

03:22 You know put this, put the stepping stones in place. Put the structure and the habits and routines in place. Put the mental clarity and agility You need to literally show up as the man that you want to be and then everything else falls into place behind that if your running around like an absolute stressed out, let's be fair burn out is a big thing but how you show up is what determines your experience in life. And that's what we take charge of We've got some awesome opportunities coming up over the rest of 2025. Lodge Weekender in November is an awesome empowerment weekend, three days up in the Scottish Highlands definitely centred around The Fire Walk on a Saturday night but if you don't

04:09 If you don't want to do that, it's absolutely fine. It's a group of men reconnecting with who they are having some time in a wonderful place getting out of the routine connecting bonding having some amazing experiences which fire walking is definitely one of them The 3XC Accelerator starting in September and working with me one-on-one as an elite client These are different levels of opportunity around the High Value Man Project if you go to highvaluemanproject.com All the opportunities to get into our free community or book a call with me are all there for you. So, back to the topic of today. I'm freestyling this really! It's... it's and you know one of the things as well that i've gotta bring up is where have I been? Well bloody hell what a saga moving over from StreamYard to Riverside loads of podcasters use Riverside. I've been a guest on lots of people shows and just like you get sent the Riverside link. It's really easy, its great so your thinking okay thats gonna be cool

CHAPTER 03 / 10 Discussion

Technical Difficulties Moving from StreamYard to Riverside

A transition from StreamYard to Riverside caused significant technical issues, resulting in poor audio quality for several guest interviews and a six-week gap in content production. The problem was eventually resolved by adjusting settings within the Google Chrome browser after consultation with support staff. This experience serves as a lesson in the trade-off between maintaining consistency and striving for technical perfection.

streamyard· riverside· podcasting· chrome· technical support

05:11 No, a complete nightmare moving in all my habits and routines moving over from Streamyard to Riverside. I couldn't get it working! A couple of awesome guests their interviews have been shit really because my sound was awful Spending hours, honestly a ridiculous amount of time. I'm pretty competent at this stuff but i couldn't get it working and then eventually one of their help people said go into the last end of chrome and turn this thing off well I've turned off and seems to have fixed it so I don't know what the lesson is there something about sticking with things that you know

05:56 Even if they double the bloody price. Or, or persevering I'm not sure which but i guess probably what could have done was carry on and put something out in a lesser polished format so there's possibly something there about the impact of trying to get things right and what would be worse it being little bit less quality but me staying consistent or me disappearing off the face of the podcast for what is probably almost about six weeks To try and fix it, to try and make it be perfect. I think... not I think my message my lesson there would be to continue showing up as hard as that is as I speak here from experience clearly! And then the holiday The Holiday So kids and I, My brother lives in Annecy France now just on Lake Annecy in amazing little village they moved there because they were fed up with spending half their life at airports which is a real first world problem right?

CHAPTER 04 / 10 Discussion

Relocating to Annecy France and Calculated Risk Taking

A family relocation to a stunning house in Annecy, France, serves as a case study in vision and shared values between a couple. The move was motivated by a desire to escape airport travel and settle in a cosmopolitan region known for summer and winter sports. The distinction is made between "crazy" calculated risks, such as planned base jumping, and "stupid" decisions made recklessly to fix failing relationships.

annecy· france· lake annecy· financial stability· calculated risk

07:00 He's a successful guy. A couple of his businesses have really smashed it and they've, as an extended family, they have stuff in Cyprus, they've got stuff in Austria... And so that was kind of their experience and they were like what would it be like to live in a place that had everything we wanted? So Annecy as a region was something someone suggested It's in France which apparently one of our close friends who is French he said to Jim why do you want.

07:36 Why do you want to go to... You know I love an accent, right? But Jim why do you want to go to France it is full of French people. Clearly he's a French person who chose to come and live in England for the fun as I understand it but there they are Annecy is very cosmopolitan area has got a lot of transient sort of people coming through for sports winter sports summer sports It's got a nice atmosphere to it and their house is stunning. And as a family, they've really embraced it. You know anybody can move somewhere else and it doesn't work. It does help when what you're setting up is nice. You know, it has a foundation of financial stability but that doesn't take... there are no guarantees there but they, as a couple

08:25 Plan did had a vision for it and they took the risk they took the plunge and so you've got to know the lesson from this i feel is observing them as a strong team. Observing them as a couple with clear goals and shared values, and then having the confidence in wisdom shall we say to actually push out there and do it. That could be a conversation for you take on board any area don't do things casually you don't do things recklessly because that's just stupid i say to my boy all the time crazy is actually alright

09:04 Doing things crazy is actually alright. A base jumper is doing something crazy, but they plan it They pack their parachute properly they assess where they're jumping where they're going to be landing I presume so it's a crazy activity But that craziness is calculated Stupid is just stupid And you gotta get that distinction. You've got to determine for yourself what is a stupid decision? Having another baby to fix the relationship, that's a stupid decision! Spunking a load of money on holiday to fix the relationship or make yourself happy... That's probably stupid as well so you see the difference there

CHAPTER 05 / 10 Discussion

Parenting Teenagers and Benefits of Group Holidays

Managing teenage children on holiday often involves navigating constant bickering and "snidey lumps," a common experience confirmed by other parents and elders. Bringing friends along for teenage children is recommended as a strategy to improve social dynamics and share responsibilities like cleaning up. Strengthening sibling bonds is highlighted as a priority, ensuring children know they can count on each other when challenges arise.

teenagers· parenting· single dad· family dynamics· sibling bonds

09:47 So there we go that's the message and lesson there. So here we are my kids and I, we decide to drive down their it makes sense if you've got teenagers and your single dad For your kids to take a friend on holiday. The reason for this is if your kids are like mine, and I have done a sanity check here just to make sure that i'm not a shit parent which clearly I know I'm not but... To find out from other parents do your teenage kids just constantly like take snidey lumps out of each other? Yes they do! Yes they do ok good good okay so it's not just me but and the teenagers so i said to my aunt about how the holiday was going, its been very trying she said that my aunt was my mom figure when I was growing up because my mum died. And uh yeah you don't need to remember we had four of you. Oh yeah four okay okay um and thats the importance of having

10:47 You know that close relationship with people who are elders you know people whether it's family hopefully for you and your still connected and have a good relationship with your family. For me, that is an important part of life clearly if if your family in the people around you toxic then you might want to cut them loose but don't do that before Before you check for yourself, like am I part of this? Am i doing something here. For me and my family certainly on my mum's side and my aunt's side which includes the Chicago family we're very close We are very interconnected and close And that's not a chore it's not a challenge It's just a natural part of how we express ourselves

11:37 I see that in my relationship with my brother there have been times where it's been a little pinch points or into family stuff and to be able to have that disagreement and for it too pass quickly for the reset to happen. You know it doesn't even need to be something you agree on not agree on but for their to be the reason when you come back together because thats It's possible it's what matters i say to my kids all the time you know your in this world to be able to count on your sibling to know that when the chips are down someone in this world has got your back regardless of everything and anything that's gone on. Is it not to be casually thrown away so,

12:24 I don't know, i've espoused this to my kids since they were little and there are moments definitely moments. There was a point when my daughter wanted to go into Annecy with her friend and um there was some minor concern from others about should they be going there or should they get in the bus? Should they...I was like yeah go for it! My brother's older teenagers do so why can't my kids anyway then Jago says I'll go with them No it is moments like that when you can see past the bickering and snidey stuff and be like okay yeah i have done a good job there they, that bond is strong I have forged the relationship between us or where we can count on each other where we see each other as both family and friends someone i can count on and someone i can be therefore.

13:18 Nonetheless, taking a friend on holiday with your teenage kids is very solid idea. I don't know why more people don't do it? I suppose people think would they want us... Would their folks let them come? Would it be more expensive in reality no both friends paid for themselves quite honestly now in certain respects that helped We manage other costs across the holidays. So it's a very positive thing to do and dinner time, and even the cleaning up actually the teenagers did help me clean up but certainly those social moments where there is more of us there absolutely bloody brilliant!

CHAPTER 06 / 10 Discussion

Relationship Responsibility and Attracting the Right Partner

Personal relationship success is attributed to taking full responsibility for one's own energy and attitude rather than blaming a partner. Drawing on concepts from relationship coaching and "nice guy syndrome" studies, the discussion posits that men attract what they project. Men are encouraged to pull their weight in domestic duties, including childcare and cleaning, to create the space for a healthy, well-matched partnership.

relationships· responsibility· nice guy syndrome· red pill· energy

13:59 My girlfriend came out and joined us for about five days, which was just a brilliant...just brilliant. My relationship with Jo, I shared this on Facebook just last night actually the magic of our relationship which if you listen to the podcast before or watch me on any my socials you will have seen we talk about this it is about her right because she's awesome but its even more about who I am That she's entered my life we get back what we put out you know, we attract what we are. So if your a lot of drama there is a lot of panic and concern about love and relationships and it going right or it going wrong then your probably gonna attract that kind of relationship how you're gonna show up in your relationship is that

14:50 And this is a very subtle thing that I work on with men when we're together. It's in having them see that the, if we call it problems right? It's not always problems but if you just call that for simples have you taken full responsibility for the problems you experience in your relationship Because you can only challenge your partner, you can only improve things when you've fully seen that for yourself. It's a bit like the Emperor's New Clothes if you know that story bear with me right? You know that story! The emperor wants some clothes two dudes come in and tell him they're going to make this wonderful suit that only awesome people can see they charge him a load of money and then he goes out in the parade with nothing on and everyone is clapping and saying oh that's wonderful and one little girl says

15:41 Mummy, why is the king naked? Why is the emperor naked and the whole illusion is shattered because it's that level of blindness. That'll have you think well It's not me its her or all relationships are like this there must be something wrong with me right which isn't really taking responsibility either. It's still like a level of blame there about something that has happened before Like your stuck like theres nothing you can do about it My relationship is fundamentally based on how I shifted my attitude towards myself, towards love and the things that i've read and studied in relationship coaching, nice guy syndrome. In some you know red pill stuff man no sphere it's not that im fully on board with all that but in terms of showing up as the man you need to be in your life then definitely that

16:38 You know you will have seen me talk about responsibility and sharing in the relationship. I really struggle with men that don't pull their weight in their home, whether it's cooking or childcare or cleaning or any other part of the family load. I really struggle with with the idea that some men think they don't do that stuff or they're above it. If your paying someone to do it and neither if you do then thats one thing You'll do it for sure if you end up divorced. That's the wake-up call there and so my relationship with Jo, attracting a woman like that into my life or creating the space for a woman like that to show up because I truly believe in the energy we put out there and the space that creates opportunities to come at you whether its business whether its love whether its fun whether its winning stuff literally

17:38 The energy that we put out creates the space for the result and here and there we go here i am in this relationship with someone who is so well matched to me was so well matched to each other and at fifty. It's taken me this long to understand what that's about and it's not an accident, You know there are so many you know I don't have a foot is this seven billion of us on the planet. I forget that number i'm pretty sure about seven minutes at least fifty percent of those are the opposite sex and to whatever degree, that subset keeps getting smaller and coming down to the number of women out there who would be a good match for you it's still a massive number there's no such thing as the one

CHAPTER 07 / 10 Discussion

Breaking Repetitive Cycles in Men's Relationships

Many men fall into repetitive cycles where new relationships mirror the exact problems of previous ones because they fail to address internal issues. An example is shared of a member of the High Value Man inner circle who successfully transitioned from a "meltdown" to a healthy relationship after joining Andy's Man Club. Taking stock and grounding oneself is presented as the essential first step to breaking these negative patterns.

andy's man club· repetitive cycles· relationship coaching· facebook· personal growth

18:34 There is wonderful women looking for wonderful men and the clearer you can be about who you are what you stand for what you have to offer and not be precious about finding her, not be overly concerned about losing he. Then you get to be free, you get to be the man that she truly wants to be with. She can truly feel excited about sharing her life with... That's the degree of opportunity responsibility joy that is available to us all when we get clear on having a great relationship and I see this so often now I'll see people on Facebook men maybe have had an introductory call with me We talk about stuff

19:22 Part of it might be relationships and then if they don't end up working with me, and I see them on Facebook a year or two years later. And they're sharing their new relationship and it's not for me to judge and I don't know them so but taking it on face value and look at him like wow that looks a lot like the challenges and issues problems whatever you want to say that they were discussing with me about their previous relationship It's a shame it's a waste its we live out our repetitive cycle when we don't deal with what's going on for us and the complete opposite happens when we take stock ground ourselves one of the guys. In in the high value man in a circle just talking about today about,

20:17 His new relationship and I had to remind everybody there that yes, that is amazing incredible but the backstory is. The meltdown from the previous relationship the financial and career challenges and then taking stock then starting to put the work in a found Andy's man club which is a great group men's group across the UK he ended up becoming one of the leaders in his local The Jonnie Jensen Show, Jonnie Jensen, Annecy,

CHAPTER 08 / 10 Discussion

Airport Reunions and the Value of Unpaid Love

The emotional significance of being met at the airport by a loved one is described as a powerful expression of affection. This sentiment is reinforced by social media content noting that a person picking you up from the airport is doing so out of love rather than for payment. These moments of connection are framed as highlights of the human experience, whether involving romantic partners or close friends.

airport· chicago· romanticism· friendship· social media content

21:13 And the drive was about an hour and I was like, A. I wanted to go and get out B. I could C. Nothing beats that feeling of someone meeting you at the airport having spent a lot of time in summers during my childhood going to Chicago nothing beats that moment of walking through and your family or your loved one being on the other side literally maybe i'm a little bit Romantic but for me nothing that's right up there. That moment is right up there going walking out that door into the arms of someone you love and looking forward to seeing is an incredible feeling, and naturally because our phones are always bloody listening to us Joe got a piece of content later that day which went something along the lines of the person who picks you up from the airport isn't being paid just wanted to come do it thats love

22:12 That could be a friend as well, right? It doesn't have to be intimate love. So there we are! We had a great time and I guess the final point about all this is that the trip was a real Relax a real detox, a real switch off. I barely looked at my laptop or my phone for a couple of weeks other than to put Spotify on. I didn't really do much, didn't really exercise much we did a lot walking around there was some cycling and i did a couple workouts but there was also a lot of sitting by the pool drinking beer or getting into the end of day an having gin & tonic it's not that im a complete pisshead but certainly

CHAPTER 09 / 10 Discussion

Restorative Power of Sleep and Wholesome Experiences

A recent holiday focused on restorative health, involving eight to ten hours of sleep per night and minimal use of technology. Activities included walking, cycling, and listening to music on Spotify, which allowed for mental wandering and the generation of new ideas for the coming months. This intentional approach to "wholesome experiences" is contrasted with the wild partying typical of younger years in locations like Ibiza.

sleep· recovery· spotify· intentionality· restorative health

22:53 Being able to use that break, I slept at least eight hours. I think every night a couple of nights early in the holiday, I slept for 10 hours so that's what a holiday, that is what a break, that is what gifting yourself that time is really about I don't know what that version is like obviously when you're younger going out and partying being on a holiday in Ibiza or somewhere like that it's very much about absolutely going wild but for me,

23:28 That break the opportunity to spend quality time with people see my kids playing in the pool to cook a barbecue and have dinner with them. To spend that quality time with joe and two as i mentioned before to stick spotify on and dig into new music old tunes and really just allow my mind to go off on a wonder, with the music in the background that's a restorative Healthy process I know that the ideas of the actions at the work is gonna come out all me in the next. Month six weeks is going to be heavily influencing fit the rest of this year it's gonna be heavily influenced by that quality time so you have to have that recharge being able to do it in a way that, with the people you love from a grounded perspective and its not always about luxury and beauty

24:24 Big big ticket to experiences it's very much about the wholesome experience of being the man that you want to be with the people you love and as one of the lines I always use is having plans to look forward to a memory so that back on, this last couple weeks has definitely been all of that. Is there some sort of better than everyone else message from it no not at all It's just an intentionality and this episode might have seemed like a, well that's all flipping obvious Jonnie. That's all bloody obvious but it isn't to so many men

CHAPTER 10 / 10 Discussion

High Value Man Project Basecamp and Community Access

The High Value Man Project offers a complimentary "Basecamp" level of entry, providing access to a YouTube program and various digital assets. The episode concludes with a call to action for listeners to subscribe, leave reviews, and share the podcast with other fathers.

25:00 Isn't the experience that all families are having and i want you to consider what would it be like for us to have that what would it be like for me to come back from holiday energize looking forward to the work this is coming down the line. What will it be like for me to be fully in control of my life and relationships with people around me, that's what the high value man project is about it took me It took me, well what are we on? I'm divorced there's been some breakups that challenge me there's been financial challenges there's been loss death lots of experiences to get to this point is possible it is essential that we give this other men at a young age as humanly possible

25:57 I'm not sure my kid is really listening but then in another way, i'd like to think that it's all kind of going and somewhere down the line he'll be like yeah okay this is who im showing up with in my relationship with my friends or girlfriend as. And he will see the rewards off that from a younger age whatever age you're at what ever situation nows the time its that classic when was the best time to plant an oak tree fifty years ago or second best time today If you go to high value man. project.com forward slash group that will get you in at the complimentary Basecamp level there is the YouTube point I program in their and a bunch of other free complimentary assets to help you start that journey, do gift you a power call with me so you can talk about what you want to create where the challenges are and what being high value man could mean it to you what kind of life that you could create
