About this episode

Louise Miller launches the Unfrazzle Summer Rewind series to address seasonal burnout and the psychological toll of chronic over-scheduling. This curated collection of retrospective episodes provides a strategic pause for entrepreneurs and leaders who find themselves rushing between commitments without experiencing the rewards of their labor. Miller advocates for a deliberate slowdown to preserve mental clarity during the high-intensity summer months.

A recent high-level planning session in London demonstrated that postponing specific projects actually increases team success by preventing nervous system fatigue. By intentionally delaying certain initiatives, organizations can focus on the goodness of current work rather than succumbing to the relentless striving that characterizes modern business culture. This approach prioritizes basic daily needs and deep belly breathing to counteract the physical effects of a frazzled state. Strategic pauses on platforms like Spotify and iTunes are now essential tools for maintaining long-term professional momentum.

Louise Miller shares personal reflections on the difficulty of switching off when ambition takes over the driver's seat. The community is encouraged to support the show's visibility by leaving reviews on Apple Podcasts and sharing insights across social media channels. This transition period marks a temporary break from new recordings to allow for genuine rest and reflection.

CHAPTER 02 / 4 Discussion

Strategic Planning and Postponing Goodness for Team Success

A recent team planning session in London resulted in an achievable yearly plan by intentionally postponing certain projects. This strategy allows a team to fully experience the "goodness" of their current work rather than rushing through tasks. Over-scheduling often leads to mental fatigue and a loss of focus on basic daily needs.

01:22 A little while ago I hopped on a train to London to facilitate a planning day for client and her fabulous team. And together we came up with an exciting, achievable plan for the year and I really loved what my client said afterwards She said We planned so much goodness and we postponed some goodness So we actually get to enjoy the goodness of the goodness! Or are you doing what I used to do and rushing from one thing to the next, until your head starts spinning? You forget to breathe. You're fretting about the next thing on your list and the things that might have forgotten to do or things that should have been done by now... And you can't think straight… And you're out of milk! What on earth will you eat for dinner?! So please don't feel bad if this sounds familiar – it's a really easy pattern to fall into particularly when you're smart and savvy and on a mission

CHAPTER 03 / 4 Discussion

Managing Ambition and Preventing Nervous System Burnout

Relentless striving in business often prevents entrepreneurs from switching off and enjoying their current achievements. Taking a "time out" with deep belly breaths can calm a frazzled nervous system and counteract the effects of over-scheduling. Reflection on current work habits helps identify where pushing too hard prevents the enjoyment of a created lifestyle.

02:14 Because, you know no matter where we're at in our business journey most of us want to be further along than we are. And whilst that ambition is really fabulous because the world needs you to be out there doing your brilliant thing sometimes it gets tangled up in relentless pushing and striving making it really hard to switch off So you might be thinking well how can I switch off when there is so much more I need to do? And I get it. My suggestion is that you take a time out, at the very least just taking a few deep belly breaths to calm your frazzled nervous system because overdoing it, over scheduling, over planning, overstretching yourself all of those things get in the way of you enjoying the goodness of the goodness that is your business and your life

03:01 You know, the goodness of the offer you're creating. The goodness of the clients you're supporting. The goodness of the relationships your building Imagine if you could fully lean into the goodness of those things rather than blasting through them in a frenzy wouldn't that feel better? So my invitation for you today is just to reflect on where you might be pushing so hard that you're not enjoying the business and the life that you're creating for yourself. See if you can think about one thing you might change, so that you are better able to enjoy the goodness of the goodness As always I hope that helps and i look forward to seeing you again soon
