These short bursts of activity prevent burnout while ensuring that small but essential tasks receive consistent attention throughout the work week.

CHAPTER 02 / 3 Discussion

Productivity Power of Fifteen Minute Focused Sprints

Short, 15-minute bursts of focused attention can lead to significant progress on small tasks that typically remain at the bottom of a to-do list. Recommended activities for these sprints include tidying physical and digital workspaces, purging phone photos, unsubscribing from emails, and updating expenses. Utilizing motivational music playlists and setting a timer are suggested methods to maintain momentum during these brief intervals.

01:41 When you set your mind to something and you remove distractions, 15 minutes of focused attention on the task at hand can be really powerful. Obviously this doesn't work for tasks that you know will take longer than that like blog writing or updating your website but it's really great for those smaller tasks that never quite make it to the top of your list So depending on what you choose to do, it can really help to whack on some motivational tunes. I've made a few 15-minute playlists which i'll link in the show notes but the idea here is that you pick a task set a timer for 15 minutes and then see how much you can get done in that time and I think you might surprise yourself! Here are some ideas to get you started with some things you might want to do with your 15 minutes You might want to tidy your desk getting all of those stress inducing pieces of paper out of your eyeline

02:29 Tidy the desktop on your computer so that you're greeted by a calming, serene screen every time you power up. You might take 15 minutes to purge the photos on your phone or organise some folders on your computer so that you can find things more easily. You might go on an unsubscribe rampage getting rid of all those emails that you never open You might deal with the shredding that's gathering dust in the corner or chase outstanding invoices, or tidy a corner of the house to create a calm space that you can retreat to with a cup of tea. Maybe you grab a pile of receipts and update your expenses or reply to that email that you've been putting off? This is your chance to tackle that job that you never quite get round to! So what are you doing with the rest of your day today? Do you have a spare 15 minutes? If so have a think about what you might want to just tackle in those 15 minutes
