Waco Siege Survivor Clive Doyle Calls The Jeff Davis Show Feb 28th 2011 [PEXHkw FbWE] cover

About this episode

Branch Davidian survivor Clive Doyle joins Jeff Davis to challenge the official narrative of the 1993 Waco siege on its 18th anniversary. Doyle recounts the initial Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms raid on the Mount Carmel Center, claiming federal agents opened fire while the community ate breakfast. He asserts that David Koresh attempted to de-escalate the situation at the front door before sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to his wrist and stomach.

Testimony from the San Antonio trial suggests ATF agents failed to produce a search warrant before the confrontation began. Doyle describes finding a mortally wounded Perry Jones in the hallway while Sheila Martin mistook incoming tactical trailers for construction deliveries. The account details the deaths of four federal agents and the subsequent use of tanks against the structure, which Davis characterizes as state-sanctioned mass murder. Survivors plan a memorial service for April 19th at the Country Inn and Suites on Interstate 35 to honor those killed during the 51-day standoff.

Clive Doyle reflects on the mortality of the remaining witnesses following the recent passing of Katherine Madison. The segment concludes with a musical tribute titled 17 Little Children to commemorate the minors who died in the fire. Mike Hanson joins the call to confirm his attendance at the upcoming Mount Carmel site visit.

CHAPTER 01 / 7 Discussion

Waco Siege 18th Anniversary, Clive Doyle Interview Introduction

Jeff Davis introduces Clive Doyle, a survivor of the 51-day Waco siege in 1993, to mark the 18th anniversary of the event. Davis criticizes a recent report by the Austin CBS affiliate, KI, which he characterizes as a biased portrayal of the Branch Davidians as cultists. Doyle joins the call to provide his first-hand perspective on the initial raid and the subsequent trauma.

00:00 Okay, folks. We're fixing hopefully here to have Clive Doyle call in Clive survived all 51 days in Waco Texas In 1993 and that should be mr.. Clive Doyle let's try it Hello Hello good client this is Jeff Davis Thank You sir I'm do we're doing great here we've got fur I want to thank you for calling in Clive Let me mention to you that the local CBS affiliate, KI here in Austin Texas ran just an unbelievably horrible piece about today being the 18th anniversary of

00:48 of the, yeah I love The Raid. It was you know you all were cultists and it was just awful so... Can hear? I'm sure your used to it but that's one of the reasons why I asked Mike to call have you if you'd be available to call in because its just ya know the whole thing is ridiculous and Gary Go ahead. First off, how do you feel? It's been 18 years ago today When the whole raid came down what your thoughts on it, you know be either then or now We were not expecting it by any means You know for them to come in there shooting and and you know, it came out in the

CHAPTER 02 / 7 Discussion

Branch Davidian Account of the Initial ATF Raid

Clive Doyle describes the morning of the initial raid, noting that the community was caught by surprise while having breakfast. He claims that David Koresh attempted to speak with authorities at the front door before gunfire erupted from the outside. Doyle highlights testimony from the San Antonio trial suggesting agents failed to bring the search warrant they were purportedly there to serve.

david koresh· atf raid· search warrant· mount carmel· shooting

01:46 trial later on in San Antonio that they hadn't even brought the search warrant with them. They said they were out there to serve a warrant, you know we'd gotten up and had breakfast and everything and I happened to hear bunch of people in the cafeteria area kind of quite a crowd in there and I went in to see what was going on David Koresh walked in from the other side and said that he just got news that something was going down, you know there was people coming and told us to all just go back to our rooms. And he'd go down to the front door and talk to them see what they wanted. Next thing I knew it was shots fired from outside just coming in all over the place

02:44 And that was pretty traumatic. I've been shot at before, but this is the first time with such a huge amount of people and by the end of the day we had six people dead and several wounded and it was pretty traumatic I imagine so, Gary. Yeah, there's something that always wondered up and whenever David went or when he was in the kitchen there

CHAPTER 03 / 7 Discussion

Conspiracy Theories and Casualties of the Waco Raid

The discussion addresses theories regarding the deaths of four federal agents and the high number of unarmed Branch Davidians shot during the raid. Doyle recounts seeing Perry Jones and David Koresh wounded early in the confrontation. He argues that the overwhelming force used suggests the government had ulterior motives beyond simply serving a legal warrant.

conspiracy theories· perry jones· david koresh· branch davidians· atf agents

03:29 Did he have a weapon with him at that time? I don't recall seeing him with a weapon. Oh, okay. You know there's conspiracy theories Clive that the four agents that were killed that day weren't even shot by the Branch Davidians. Uh-uh, I've heard that but I can't say one way or another. I know that you know the government tried to make it sound like we ambushed them or something just everybody was just shooting at them but uh... The only, I saw a couple of guys that once the shooting started they reacted by getting some weapon but they were small minority. The rest of the people most of the people in there were unarmed and like i said taken by surprise and you know when David went to the front door and opened it to see what who was coming

04:24 They just start shooting through the front door. They shot Perry Jones, David's father-in-law. They shot David and like I say after a few hours we had six people dead and you know that's a strange way to just come in and serve a warrant if that's all they had a search warrant but uh i think they had More ulterior motives on their mind when they first started maybe not all of the individual officers that took part in the rave it's Somebody had a plan to do more than just serve a warrant Yeah, and Clive what were you doing that time? Were you just well I'd been in my room

CHAPTER 04 / 7 Discussion

Personal Experiences During the Mount Carmel Gunfire

Clive Doyle and fellow survivor Sheila Martin recount their specific locations and reactions as the raid began at the Mount Carmel Center. Martin initially mistook the agents' trailers for building supply deliveries before the shooting started. Doyle describes finding a wounded Perry Jones in the hallway and learning that David Koresh had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his wrist and stomach.

05:14 Like I said, we just had breakfast and the only reason we probably weren't out working outside was that it was... Had been drizzling rain. And so uh We hadn't got out you know most of the guys were still in the building and hadn't got to get on to work but like i say i was in my room and i heard all these people in the cafeteria which was across the hall from where I was, uh...where my room was. And when i got out there they were tossing around that somebody had called in and said

05:56 uh something was going down like a raid or or something nobody seemed to really know what was going on except that they'd heard something was up and about that time like i said david came in and confirmed that he'd heard that somebody was coming so he He just told us all to stay calm and go back to our rooms, and he would go down and see who it was. Sheila Martin, you know her story is that she was upstairs on the second floor, she saw the trucks come down the gate I didn't see anybody driving in because

06:35 I wasn't looking out the window, wasn't expecting anything so I wasn't looking but she happened to look out the window and she thought they were delivering building supplies. You know they had these trucks with like horse trailers on the back but they were covered with tarpaulins well it turned out that all of their agents in these trailers So it was a shock to her. She just thought somebody was delivering building materials, but once all that shooting started you know... It was a It was a weird experience. You'd think we would all be cowering and trying to duck bullets or whatever, but I found myself running down to the front door expecting to see a bloodbath in that general area because of the volume of shots that came in

07:31 As I went down the hall, I found Perry Jones crawling up the halls screaming that he'd been shot and told me David had been shot. So I ran further down to the front door area expecting to see David laying on the floor maybe a whole bunch of others you know but when i got down there it was empty And so I came back to Perry Johnson. Thought you said David was shot? He says, well he was but he ran up the front stairs up to the second floor And we found out later that he got shot again up there. So, he had two wounds one through the wrist which he'd got at the front door and one through his stomach it went in the front and out back straight through wound but it was bad enough to where he figured he wasn't going to last much longer He thought he was dying

CHAPTER 05 / 7 Discussion

Branch Davidian Survivor Memorial Service, April 19th

Clive Doyle shares details for an upcoming memorial gathering on April 19th to commemorate the anniversary of the siege's end. The event is tentatively planned for the Country Inn and Suites on Interstate 35, involving a service followed by visits to the cemetery and the Mount Carmel site. Jeff Davis and Mike Hanson confirm their intentions to attend the gathering.

08:32 And we all figured perhaps the same thing, you know. He was in pretty bad shape there for a while Clive I want to mention that you're having a get-together some type of get together again on this April 19th April 19th. Yes, yeah tell us about that Well, we haven't got it all set up As far as the place yet that were hoping to have the same Motel That that we had last year while in the last couple years and

09:11 I've yet to confirm that we can get that booking, but the last two years we've been at the Country Inn and Suites on the southbound lane of Interstate 35. It'll probably start about 10 o'clock and we're hoping to have food there this year. Instead of going to a restaurant, we'd probably eat right there at the motel if we can arrange it all and get it all organized so uh... We'll probably be there for three or four hours usually after that a number of people usually want to go to the cemetery and or out to Mount Carmel

10:05 Just depends what they want to do as far as after the service is over but We're hoping to have a pretty good crowd Well, I figured Mike Hanson and myself will be there man of them. Okay? That's that's good so Anyway Clive we're fixing to play 17 little children okay, so Is there anything else you'd like to add or is that or you know, you want to finalize? And I do thank you for calling in again. Well... You know the longer time goes since this happened because more and more of the survivors are dying off but

CHAPTER 06 / 7 Discussion

Legacy and Mortality of the Waco Siege Survivors

Clive Doyle reflects on the aging population of Waco survivors and the importance of maintaining the memory of the 1993 events. He mentions the passing of Katherine Madison in the previous year and expresses hope that future generations will continue to share the story of what happened at Mount Carmel as the original witnesses pass away.

katherine madison· survivors· waco siege· historical memory· branch davidians

10:54 Fortunately, I don't think we've had news of anyone dying in the past 12 months which is a good thing. Last year we just lost Katherine Madison and so she died just a couple months before but hopefully there won't be any new names to add this year But it you know the ones that are still around scattered around the country Getting fewer and fewer as time goes by and I'm just hoping that

11:33 you know, if the Lord allows us those of us that went through this experience to die that others will keep the memory of what happened and then, you know, keep it going even if we're not still around. But as long as we are we'll try to You know tell The latest generations of the horrific thing that happened 18 years ago this year Okay, Clive and like say we'll probably see April 19th. Okay? We'll be looking forward to it. Okay you take care Thank you. Bye bye. Okay folks any Final comments about all that I

CHAPTER 07 / 7 Discussion

Commentary on the Use of Tanks at Waco

The hosts provide final commentary on the tragedy, labeling the government's actions as mass murder and criticizing the use of tanks against a building containing men, women, and children. One speaker asserts that they would have refused orders to drive a tank into the structure, emphasizing the innocence of the victims before transitioning to a musical tribute titled 17 Little Children.

tanks· mass murder· military tactics· law enforcement· waco siege

12:24 call for tragedy. I mean, that many really innocent people having to be killed like that. I think it was just basically murder. Yeah. That's the way I feel about it. It just must be terrible. Apparently these bullets are coming in all over the place and nobody knows what is going on and...I mean that has to be terrifying Mass murder. And there were men women and children in there on that day, September 28th See, if I was a tank driver, I wouldn't be a tank driver. But if I was a tank driver and then they gave me orders to drive that tank into that building, I wouldn't do it. So that's the way I feel about it. Anyway folks we ready? We're gonna play 17 Little Children
